etired Seniors Volunteer Program

RSVP Volunteer Mission:
Benefit the community by supporting and recruiting volunteers 55 and older to help deliver priority services to people of all ages, providing Racine County with priceless resources.  

What We Do:
We aspire to build and expand a community-wide network of volunteers and partner affiliates that unites compassionate, experienced adults with meaningful and fulfilling service opportunities, enriching the volunteers’ lives and enhancing support for needy people.

Volunteers choose how and when they serve.

AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Volunteers Receive:
- a pre-service interview, orientation, training
- volunteer insurance (supplemental coverage)
- mileage reimbursement for MyRIDE
- quarterly newsletters
- 2 volunteer appreciation events each year.

AmeriCorps Seniors Enrollment Form

AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP offers volunteer opportunities such as

  • Racine-Kenosha Amateur Radio Service (ARES®) - Coordinating emergency communication exercises as licensed “ham” radio operators.

  • Ascension All Saints Healthcare - Comfort Cart visitors, Pet Therapy, and Gift shop assistants.

  • Aurora Hospital - Main Entrance, Healing Cart/Patient Companion, Inpatient Floor Assistant, etc.

  • beLEAF, SURVIVORS, Inc. - Volunteer Advocates for sexual assault victims.

  • Caledonia Historical Society - Lending your talents to historic preservation, gardening, and tour guide.

  • Habitat for Humanity - Build safe, affordable homes or volunteer at the Habit ReStore w/multiple activities.

  • Meals on Wheels (ADRC) - Delivering meals to homebound seniors.

  • MyRIDE Senior Transportation- Providing free transportation to seniors for medical appts, grocery stores, pharmacies, hair salons, etc.

  • Racine Heritage Museum - Archives and research assistant, reception desk and sales shop, Heritage Walking Tour guide.

  • Senior Companion Program* - Visiting, phoning, and writing to their senior companion.

  • Sew n Save - Sewing, quilting and crafting for numerous organizations across the globe.

  • Siena Retreat Center - Welcoming Groups, Serving Meals, Front Desk Receptionist, Book Store, or special projects.

  • St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry - Stocking shelves, packaging groceries, and assisting pantry clients.

  • Our Harmony Club - Volunteer Friends, Kitchen Assistants, Entertainers, Arts & Crafts.
