We at the Volunteer Center celebrate you, our friends who have been so supportive of our mission with contributions of time, talent and money. We hope your involvement with us is enriching, and rewarding for you, and ask that you consider a monetary donation. Your assistance will help us continue offering innovative and needed services to the Racine community.

The Volunteer Center annually helps over 25,000 people find volunteer activities all over the county by providing assistance to more than 400 local non-profit agencies, groups and organizations. We provide programs for all ages, including youth, families and seniors. For example, our FREE weekly Summer Youth Camps which provide innovative service-learning experiences, training and fun. We also house and support the following groups: Amateur Radio Emergency Services(ARES), TRIAD, and Long Term Recovery Committee of the Southeast Wisconsin Voluntary Organization Active in Disaster.

  • ARES is a corps of trained amateur radio operator volunteers organized to assist in public service and emergency communications. Weekly, ARES volunteers meet at the Volunteer Center of Racine County to share knowledge and expertise as well as provide training opportunities for interested new amateurs.
  • TRIAD is a partnership involving Senior Citizens, Law Enforcement Agencies (Sheriff/Police/District Attorney) and Support/Protective Services (Councils on Aging/Elder Services/Clergy, etc.) who agree to work together. Their primary goals are to reduce the criminal victimization of older citizens and enhance the delivery of services to this population.
  • Long Term Recovery Committee works with aftermath of disaster victims after insurance, FEMA and SBA loans and grants have been exhausted and there may be additional unmet needs for a client.

Our Episodic Days of Caring include: Martin Luther King Day, Make A Difference Day, Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty (CROP Walk) and Earth Day, bringing individuals and families together volunteering in a variety of activities. We continue as the proud sponsor of the nationally acclaimed Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)and The Southeastern Wisconsin Citizen Corps (SEWICC).

  • RSVP a nationally-acclaimed program, provides opportunities for older adults and retirees, ages 55 and over, to serve as volunteers in our community. Our RSVP programs members capitalized on their post-retirement freedom and lead with experience as eager and productive volunteers.
  • SEWICC - This program coordinates Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)and provides training to assist Racine and Kenosha with educational programs aimed at citizen preparedness, in cooperation with Racine and Kenosha Emergency Management.

Ninety nine (99) percent of our services to our community are FREE. We must apply annually to receive federal and state grants, and private foundation contributions. We are asking for your help! We need the flexibility that comes from your monetary donations. Please consider showing your support by making a tax-deductible financial contribution to the Volunteer Center of Racine County.
