Dave is a retired Racine Police Officer, having served Racine for over 30 years. He joined the Volunteer Center staff in the fall of 2002 as our Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) Homeland Security Outreach Coordinator. Additionally, he serves as the Center's Business Coordinator for our SafeAssured ID program. Much of what Dave has done, and is doing reflects these passions.

Dave is also, and has been, a volunteer with Racine County Emergency Management as a Deputy Director for the past 30 years. He serves as chairman of Racine County VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and chairman of Wisconsin Region IV Long Term Recovery Committee. As an avid Ham radio enthusiast, Dave volunteers with Racine County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES). He is also a volunteer Ham radio instructor.

Dave serves as the president of the Racine Community Outpost. This organization owns and maintains the Racine Police Community Oriented Police houses.

In Dave's spare time he enjoys doing community service work with the Kiwanis Club of Racine, the Kiwanis Holiday Lights Foundation, Racine County TRIAD, and the Wisconsin region of the International Police Association.

If you are interested in a volunteer opportunity, don’t hesitate to contact Dave at (262) 886-9612 or dvoss@volunteercenterofracine.org. Or if you need a speaker for your organization, just ask Dave, he would love to share his experiences with you.
